Preschool
Curriculum
Our classroom structure focuses on center based themes. Themes are weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on the age of the student, level of interest and preference of the teacher.
Values of Faith
Holy Cross Lutheran School appreciates the culture and diversity of God’s world and encourages students to acknowledge and respect the differences in themselves and others. Language, materials and activities in the classroom are void of stereotypes.

Our ELCA and school values of Integrity, Inclusion, Community, Empathy and Kindness are integrated into the curriculum of the preschool. This is reflected in the warm, nurturing and respectful ways in which the staff responds to the students and families.
The students attend weekly chapel class in the church sanctuary. The Pastors and HCLC volunteers lead students in a Bible story, activity and music. The students learn different prayers during chapel as well as a variety of table prayers throughout the school year. Holy Cross Lutheran School reaches out to the community through various service projects chosen to help those in need.

Chapel
Christian basics are taught through Bible stories by the HCLC Staff.

Physical exploration of materials like clay, sand, paint & water.
Spanish
Introduction to language and culture.
Art
Creative expression focusing on the process rather than the project.
Field Trips
Offered to enrich a child’s school experience.
Fine Motor Skills
Puzzles, small manipulative toys, blocks, and drawing.
