Curriculum
Holy Cross Lutheran School places an emphasis on academic excellence and on the teaching of the Christian faith. Our teachers are dedicated to providing this excellence in an atmosphere of personal warmth and Christian love, recognizing the individuality of each child and nurturing a positive self-concept. The preschool curriculum at Holy Cross is carefully planned, taking into account the developmental level of children and recognizing the value of play and socialization in the learning process. Children develop a positive self-image as they improve skills and learn to work both independently and with others. Classroom activities maintain a well-balanced variety of individual, small-group, and whole-group instruction. Each day has a balance of free choice and group activity, quiet and active play, indoor and outdoor play (when weather permitting), large muscle and small muscle manipulation activities (cutting, puzzles, etc), and social and academic activities.
